At Cynthia Welch Designs we believe in giving back our community. Sometimes the community is not in our local community but one where others can go for us. They are our hands and feet to go where we cannot go. For us, this is where our friends Eric & Christy Duplantis come in. They are both from the community where we live, Houma, but they have gone where we personally cannot go. Eric and Christy are serving as full-time missionaries in Honduras through Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International. Eric is a retired public school teacher and Christy is a registered nurse. We first met them at our church, First Baptist Church of Houma, when they were preparing to go to the mission field. We have been blessed to spend one on one time with them as a couple and with their beautiful children.
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:13-14
They are now serving in the following ways in the impoverished country of Honduras:
Daughters of the King transition program for girls aging out of the Good Shepherd Children's Home

For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. John 3:16 (The Voice)
